Richard Powell is a Senior Managing Director of Ariel Alternatives, LLC and Co-Founder of Project Black Management Company, LLC. Richard has over 20 years M&A experience including as Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of APC Holdings, LLC. Richard has served on multiple private company boards, including ZeroChaos, which grew from $70 million to $1.2 billion in revenue in 6 years. He serves as Advisor to the Billion Dollar Roundtable (29 leading Fortune 500 firms, including Walmart, Merck, JPMorganChase and others) on capital access for minority and women-owned companies as a part of their overall Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives.


He is a frequent speaker at M&A and diversity events on capital access for MWBE’s. Richard is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Harvard Alumni Association, the Andover Alumni Council, World Economic Forum (YGL ‘09) and Nexus Global Philanthropic Network. He is the Chairman of Sequential Technology International, and Nexus Caribbean. He holds a BA in Economics from Harvard University, where he earned All-Ivy Honors as a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer and Track & Field teams.
